She attended a University of Connecticut and helped lead the Eskimo dog to the 1995 National Championship with an undefeated 35-0 record. Around her senior season, she won a 1995 Naismith and College Player of the Season awards.

Inside 1996, Lobo and her mother, RuthAnn Lobo, collaborated in the book entitled A Personal Team, which dealt using RuthAnn's battle sustaining breast cancer.

She was assigned to the New York Liberty, during a WNBA's foremost streaming video player allocations in January 22, 1997. She spent 5 years of her career by using Just released York. Lobo was traded to the Houston Comets from the Up to date York Liberty around exchange for Houston's 2nd-around choice (Twenty-sixth overall) in the 2002 WNBA Draft. When swimming a 2003 WNBA season by using a Connecticut Sun, she retired after a year. She finished when one of merely 6 women to receive a Gold Ribbon, an NCAthe championship, & a WNBA Championship (the others come Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Ruth Riley, Sheryl Swoopes, and Kara Wolters).

In todays world, Lobo is seen as a colour analyst for NBA-TV for primarily WNBA games. She too announces & commentates women's & men's college hoops too, primarily for her alma mater, a University of Connecticut.

She is married to Sports Illustrated writer Steve Rushin. In December 25, 2004 Rushin and Lobo experienced their 1st toddler, the baby girl known as Siobhan Rose Rushin.

The street known as "Rebecca Lobo Way" within Southwick, Massachusetts is named fallowing her.
